ISPO News 2020 | Ski
01/29/2020 • Tobias Huber
There are a few new developments in the ski sector that should be of interest to PowderGuide readers. In addition to a few new touring models, most companies have tidied up their freeride portfolios. Roughly summarized, most of the new top models come in medium widths around 105mm, with Titanal for lift-assisted skiing, as well as without Titanal and in similar, lighter versions as touring models. -

ISPO News 2020 | Apparel and Miscellaneous
01/28/2020 • Johannes Wolf
As in previous years, sustainability was an important topic in the clothing segment. Almost every manufacturer has now realized this. There were no major technical highlights, but there were still one or two interesting products. Generally speaking, it can be said that things are becoming a little more colorful again, albeit with more classic colors. -

Videos of the Week #3 2019/20 | The Empire and us!
12/06/2019 • Sebastian MüllerIn recent years, I have occasionally wondered whether the ski movie format still exists at all, whether it was just that its fascination had waned due to familiarization, or whether it was just the absence of Videos of the Week? The trailers for the new season at least give us hope for longer, imperial entertainment. And here, too, we are once again granting larger productions more space and finally having our free world saved by already familiar lone fighters! -

11/24/2019 • Anselm Köhler
And again an early onset of winter brings the betting game out of its winter escape in the south! This time it missed the first few PowderAlerts at 10-15 degrees Celsius in Finale Ligure on the rocks. But yes, you can't deny it: It's winter and no longer fall. It's the beginning of the season of skiing, powder, PowderAlert and snow depth prediction game! -

Gear Review | Scott Speedguide 95
02/28/2019 • Alexander BraschelThe Scott Speedguide is available in 2 versions, one with 80mm and one with 95mm underfoot. The 95mm (actually 96mm) version was tested in 178cm. Normally, here a ski review would summarise the description on the manufacturer's homepage. For me, however, this usually reads like the address on the back of a bottle of red wine and I think most of you will be more interested in how the ski performed in practice. -

Gear Review | Scott Scrapper 115
02/23/2019 • Steffen KruseTwo seasons ago, Scott launched the Scrapper 115, the little brother of the Scrapper 124, which was a huge success: The ski is light, robust, playful and stable at the same time. I put this season's ski to the test, or rather under my feet. -

ISPO NEWS 2019 | Clothing
02/06/2019 • Johannes WolfThere were also some new products in the clothing sector. However, as was the case last year, these were rather small, but we don't want to withhold a few technical highlights from you. There are few changes in terms of design, with the color tones mostly kept rather dark. Bright colors are also a rarity this year. -

Gear Review | SCOTT E1 Patrol AP 30
02/01/2019 • Alex Schober
The pressure to innovate and the high demand in the avalanche backpack sector have led to constant improvements, expansions and innovations over the years: lighter, cheaper, more user-friendly, more stylish - the numerous manufacturers are working hard and delivering ever more sophisticated systems. In close collaboration with Alpride, Scott developed the E1 Patrol AP 30, which raises the bar in the field of electronic airbags. -

ISPO Report 2018 | Avalanche safety equipment
01/27/2018 • Lea HartlIn contrast to many large manufacturers of skis, ski boots and bindings, the avalanche transceiver and airbag manufacturers were all represented at ISPO. When it comes to avalanche transceivers, there are small to medium improvements rather than huge innovations, and with the exception of Scott/Alpride, hardly anything significant has changed in terms of airbags.
