03/30/2015 • Lorenzo RiegWith the Patrol 32, EVOC has a typical top-load backpack for extended adventures in the backcountry in its range. As robust and fully equipped as usual, it is a loyal companion not only in the ski area, but also on extended ski tours where you need to carry a lot of extra equipment. -

Freeride tour of the week | Sentisch Horn - Davos
03/29/2015 • Lukas Zögernitz
A little away from the hustle and bustle of the upmarket Swiss ski resort of Davos, on the Flüela Pass just behind the gondola station of the "Pischa" ski area, there are plenty of opportunities for ski tourers. One of the most rewarding tours is the ascent to the Sentisch Horn. The tour offers various options for different skill levels both on the ascent and descent, and the predominantly north-facing exposure means there is a good chance of good snow. -

Travel Report Kyrgyzstan | Lenin Peak (7,134 m)
03/19/2015 • Steffen Kruse
Old love rekindled, Kyrgyzstan, a country of contrasts. While the north of the country is characterized by the urban influence of the capital Bishkek, which often manifests itself in rampant alcoholism and corruption, in the south we find what we had hoped for: Semi-nomads who are close to nature, full of joie de vivre and who welcome us with warm-hearted hospitality. -

Freeride tour of the week | Bristen
03/15/2015 • Daniel Schweiss
Anyone heading south through and over the Gotthard has to pass it: at 3073 m, it is not even particularly high, but at a dizzying 2500 m, it towers majestically over the flat valley floor of the Reuss valley in Uri. This fact alone, in addition to its prominence, beauty of form and steepness, makes it a dream destination. But one that is anything but a gift! -

Spot-Report Giant Mountains | Part 1
03/03/2015 • Jan ImberiIn this report, I would like to introduce you to a small, relatively unknown low mountain range that I have come to appreciate very much in recent years and whose varied landscape fascinates me time and time again in winter: the Giant Mountains. In my report, I describe a tour around the mountain massif, which is just under 30 km long. Its highest mountain, the Schneekoppe, will be the start and finish point. The first part of the report describes the main features of the mountain range, part 2 of the report then describes the freeride and touring options in the Krkonoše Mountains... -

02/15/2015 • Lorenzo RiegThe Joel (or Joelspitze) may not even be 2,000 m high, but it is still a popular tour (especially from the valley). And not for nothing, as it offers many downhill variants with manageable difficulty. What's more, the ascent from the lifts is only a short hop ... -

Gear of the Week | Snacks
02/14/2015 • Lukas ZögernitzWhether it's a ski tour in the lonely backcountry or powder rounds in the ski area. Whether together with friends in a hut or alone at the summit. Whether you're wearing a T-shirt in bright sunshine or a down jacket in a snowstorm: a small snack can't save your day on the mountain, but it certainly makes it better. That's why this time in our "Gear of the Week" section we're focusing on small snacks to take with you. Attention! This article contains product placement ;) -

Freeride tour of the week | - A classic in Goms
02/08/2015 • Helvetic BackcountrySome classics are well-worn tours that offer nothing more than a prestigious summit. Others are not important summits at all, but offer everything you need for a beautiful tour and have therefore rightly become classics.
