Gear Review | Scott Cosmos Re-Source ski boot
03/10/2025 • Martin Svejkovsky
The Scott Re-Source is part of the sustainable Re-Source product line from Scott. This means that, depending on the weight, more than 50% of the ski touring boot is made from sustainable materials. The strap is made from 100% recycled material, the shell is made from 90% bio-based upper material and the liner is also partially recycled. Scott says it combines sustainability, versatility and lightness and promises nothing less than "one of the best ski touring boots on the market". -

Ski Workshop | Binding adjustment - Touring bindings
03/06/2025 • Fritz CroneMany ski tourers still leave the fitting and adjustment of bindings to the specialists, although at least the adjustment of bindings is not particularly complicated. But are you actually allowed to adjust bindings yourself? Legally, this is a grey area. In theory, insurance companies can demand proof of binding adjustment by a specialist in the event of a claim, but in practice this happens extremely rarely. Adjusting your own bindings helps you to better understand your own equipment and to be able to help yourself in the case of a problem in the terrain. So it's worth trying at least once. And in case of doubt? You can always ask a specialist for help. -

The Alps are currently enjoying perfect weather thanks to blocking high pressure over Central Europe. The conditions for ski tours are quite good where there is snow and especially where it has recently snowed and should be taken advantage of. The outlook is not clearly promising, but a comeback of winter is quite possible in connection with a sudden stratospheric warming. So there is hope, and as long as there is hope, let's hold on to it. -

SpotCheck | Engelberg-Titlis
02/22/2025 • Klara StangThree out of five Big Fives travelled, but more than two reasons to come back Engelberg's reputation as a freeride mecca precedes it. But what is it like in the notorious area when there is no fresh snow? In the past few days, fresh snow had been forecast time and again, but just before the deadline, Ullr decided to leave Engelberg out this time.
