Gear Review | Nidecker Rift Pro Women
10/07/2026 • Alexandra ZolotykhThe Nidecker Rift Pro Women is a lightweight snowboard boot with medium stiffness, a Dual BOA system, and a relatively narrow fit. It offers a secure fit with enough freedom of movement for a variety of on-mountain activities. I tested the boot for about two months on the slopes, in powder, and on splitboard tours. I experienced everything from cold winter days to wet spring slush. This review shows how the Rift Pro performs in terms of comfort, control, and versatility. -

TouringTip | Sellabödeli (2828 m)
04/06/2026 • Tobias LeistenschneiderThe season is actually coming to an end, but the bikes are saddled up for the Sellabödeli (2828 m). From Hospental, we head over the pass road and through the Guspistal valley to one of the most beautiful splitboard adventures of the spring. A plea for long days, getting up early and the "downhill rush" on 300 meters of firn happiness. -

03/19/2026 • Till LuzioLight on the ascent, surfy in powder: the Amplid Surf Shuttle promises maximum fun in deep snow with minimal weight on your feet. But how does the splitboard perform under real conditions in the Swiss Alps - from icy crossings to fresh new snow? Our test shows where the board shines and where its limits lie. -

Splittie of the Week | Splitboard Crampons
02/09/2026 • Tobias LeistenschneiderBefore every tour of the splitboard group of my DAV section, we check whether all participants have crampons with them - the right ones for their own bindings. This is not so trivial for some and requires support here and there. In this article, I would like to briefly explain why crampons are not a nice-to-have for us splitboarders, but an absolute must-have. You will also get a comprehensive overview of the current splitboard bindings and their corresponding crampons. -

Splittie of the Week | Big feet = problem
01/26/2026 • Till MangesiusThis winter, my beetle-crushers could have come to more use during the Nordketten forest fire to help step it out than on ski toures. This lack of touring opportunity gave me enough time to get to grips with my own equipment. In doing so, I came across a few topics that had been on my mind in previous winters. -

Splittie of the Week | Shapes
01/19/2026 • Tobias Leistenschneiderrockercamberhybridcamberrockerhybridpowdercamberbananarockercruisecamber... The list is long. If you want to buy a new splitboard today, you will inevitably be confronted with one of these terms, namely when choosing the suitable or desired shape of the new sled. The list is so long that we cannot and do not want to provide an all-encompassing overview, but we have taken a quick look at the field to help you make sure that your new splitboard suits you and your tours to some extent. -

TouringTip | Splitboarding on the Rophaien
12/29/2025 • Tobias LeistenschneiderThe Rophaien is not particularly high, but as the first hill on the lake it offers an impressive view down into the blue and a racy north side with a not-so-trivial ascent and a magnificent descent. -

Splittie of the Week | Skin tuning at Kohla
12/22/2025 • Till MangesiusMeanwhile, some splitboards already come with nose holes or cut-outs, as well as tail cut-outs or holes as standard. However, most splitboard skins—including mine—still use a front bracket and a butterfly clip at the tail. Since Kohla is located close to Innsbruck, I assumed a quick visit would be enough to have my skins adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately, it turned out not to be quite that simple. -

Splittie of the Week | Sticks? Of course, but which ones?
12/08/2025 • Till MangesiusIt's clear that we all use poles when splitboarding and that it's unfamiliar at first when switching from snowboarding. We learned how to use them on the descent from Tobi last season. However, there are also the foldable poles not mentioned in his article, which are used more for hiking. But how do the folding poles compare to the telescopic poles when splitboarding? -

Splittie of the Week | TouringTip La Rossa
12/01/2025 • Tobias LeistenschneiderDear Splitties, some mountains challenge, others reward. A bit pathetic, but La Rossa did both. I was traveling with my longtime touring partner and what was planned as a classic splitboard tour turned into an intense adventure in Alaskan scenery and solitude; and a great splitboarding terrain. -

Splittie of the Week | How do you tie your shoes?
11/24/2025 • Till MangesiusLast year there was already an article about the features of a splitboard boot compared to a normal snowboard soft boot. There are different lacing systems for both types and also combinations of the different systems. You can find out what the differences are and which system is right for you here.
