Videos of the Week #16 2024/25 | Miracle March

Documentaries for the "Lunch Break"

03/21/2025 by Hannes Hemper
We start with a funny short film project about the lunch break, then visit Patagonia and crazy French people, watch splitboarders ride across the meadow and take a look at the freeski scene in Japan, which is a little disconnected from the rest of the world. This week's contest is the SLVSH Cup, and the History Lesson is all about Parker White.

Video 1: Lunch Break by Lettuces

The French ski gang, including @antoineprett, DP Ski @cuzbeh, Business Bros @mateo.deff and @enzodeffarge, made a short video in the style of a lunch break by two businessmen. The result is a really funny, slightly cocky video - but let it be said: The real sandwich artist is Mathieu Pinson!

Video 2: Pachamama by Yannick Boissenot

A documentary about a visually breathtaking landscape in Patagonia. But what happens in between? Julian Casanova and Pierre Hourticq take snowboarder Camille Armand on a steep ski mission. The film awakens the desire to explore - what awaits you out there? With humorous backstories and the authentic portrayal of the personalities, the whole thing is given the perfect finishing touch.

Video 3: Things we never told you by GaleFilm

You may know these guys from their first project GALE - visual snowboarding. Here they go into the second round. Really nice visual storytelling, as I would call it, takes you through the sections of the movie - from mountain climbs to pathfinding and magical forests...! A tribute to winters with less and less snow and how to deal with it, and also how to ride meadows sometimes.

Video 4: Sāikō || A Film Exploring the Japanese Freestyle Scene - Ski Film by Arthur Erbosch

Sāikō is about the freestyle scene in Japan, especially in Hakuba. The community there almost feels like it is in a world of its own, away from global events. This is exactly what motivated the filmmaker. It's about showing how the Japanese riders see the mountain, what drives them and why they keep coming back. Despite language barriers, there was a strong connection - through style, through movement and the shared view of the mountain. "A huge thank you to the Japanese riders for their hospitality and insights into Hakuba." - Arthur

Video 5: METAMORPHOSIS - A Japan Ski Film by Jake Auclair

Metamorphosis is about the transformative power of a ski season and the healing effect of time in the snow. The film shows the filmmaker's journey as he moves from Canada to northern Japan - away from his loved ones. A great challenge, which he deals with in this short but intense documentary. And of course there is some really good powder skiing to be seen. The film not only captures the change of location, but also his personal development and the magic of Japanese snow.

Video 6: WEBISODE 03: MACH SPEED STEEPSKIING AT BREKKETIND

Brekketind is one of the most iconic big mountain lines in Sunnmøre, Norway. On March 31, 2023, the conditions were perfect, so the filmmaker, along with snowboarder Emil Leenderts and photographer Simon Sjøkvist, decided to try his luck. They were accompanied by Bernt-Marius Rørstad and his team, who were filming a documentary about his return to skiing after the amputation of a leg. Initially, all the footage was lost due to a hard disk failure, but some recently recovered clips made it possible to put something together after all. An intense moment that captures the story of the comeback and Brekketind's breathtaking lines.

Video 7: Arc'teryx Presents: Weazy

Hopefully most of you have already seen it, if not, skip here and just watch it. If you need more convincing: Craig Murray, aka Weazy - the origin of his nickname is also explained. A little documentary about his background, so just sit back and enjoy.

Contest of the week : GAME 9 || Max Moffatt vs. Mikkel BK || SLVSH CUP GRANDVALIRA '25

Game of SLVSH - the Game of S.K.A.T.E of skiing. A project close to Joss Christensen's heart. The Grandvalira Cup is underway, and the first game from the semi-finals is now online - and what a match! Max is determined to win this cup, while Mikkel is simply a style god with creative lines. Exciting sets and a thrill to the end.

History Lesson: The Big Picture by Chris Logan and Parker White

The start of their multisport careers, where they are also more into snowboarding. Parker is just one of my favorite riders, he just has the touch. Also, like his newer video series Something, Anything, Nothing, this just inspires you so much to have fun.
