Videos of the Week #21 2025/26 | Fika with Spring

A Gentle Ritual of Rest, Connection, and Comfort

04/10/2026
Hannes Hemper
April, April - VDW is back, for the penultimate time this season. It's not over until it's over, and that's exactly how this winter feels. I've brought you lots of spring edits, including a conspicuous number of Swedes - like Bjarne's new web series Fika, in which he accompanies ski and snowboard legends through their everyday lives. There's also NUBZ TV with Freeride World Tour icons Ben Richards and Toby Rafford as well as a documentary that is particularly close to my heart: Into Altai with Victor Daviet - on the road in the UAZ bus through Mongolia.

Video 1: Fika With Bjarne: Jeremy Jones - My Kids Love Snowboarding & It Freaks Me Out

Bjarne has been making action sports films and web series for 15 years. Most people probably know him as the filmmaker of Cody Townsend. Here he is now launching a new web series in which he follows the characters behind the action films of the skiing and snowboarding world in their everyday lives and sits down for a fika at the end. Fika is a Swedish tradition that is much more than just a coffee break: a conscious time-out where you pause, drink coffee and usually enjoy a pastry such as cinnamon buns (kanelbulle). It's an important break to slow down, strengthen relationships and recharge your batteries - both at work and at home, often several times a day. A beautiful concept and perhaps just the thing for all of us this week.

Rider: Jeremy Jones

Video 2: IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER

The crew from Sweden was out filming last May. They hit side hits and kickers in the slush and, above all, show their community in spring: coming together, camping and filming together.

Riders: Oslo Jibbeklub

Video 3: It Was a Lovely Sunset

Daniel Bacher during a relaxed afternoon and evening session in Woodward Park City. The video has an almost meditative effect, soothes the soul and shows his unmistakable style - an icon.

Video 4: 72H de Backcountry

The Back-to-Back is a freestyle all-mountain event in the French Alps. Jordane Légal, butter king Jean-Pierre and style icon Isaac Simhon are there. There are several sessions on various features, including the gigantic Malaysia kicker. A French vlog with stylish tricks, paragliding and an authentic insight into the French freeski scene - as it lives and thrives.

Video 5: NUB TV Episode 1: Does It Even Matter?

Armada Skis is ushering in a new era of freeriding with Ben Richards and Toby Rafford's web series NUB TV. We follow the two emerging icons as they make their way through the Freeride World Tour this season - one of them was almost always in first place, and in the end they share the top spot.

They mix big mountain with style. I'm looking forward to more - the series gives flashback vibes to The Winter Wells or B&E. There's a lot more to come from this team.

Riders: Ben Richards, Toby Rafford, Ross Tester, Joey Leonardo and friends.

Video 6: Into Altai - Full Movie

My favorite snowboarder Victor Daviet travels to Mongolia with a group of four. They are accompanied by a UAZ bus - a vehicle I've always wanted to have myself. Beautiful storytelling and impressive footage from Mongolia make the documentary a journey into another world. The driver also shows how practically a UAZ can be repaired with a wrench. Breathtaking, remote landscapes and a Mongolian soundtrack round off the experience.

Riders: Camille Armand, Pierre Hourticq, Victor Daviet

Video 7: Backcountry Skiing Sleeping Bear Dunes After the Biggest Storm in Years

This video just had to be included here. Joe Tracks shredding on Lake Michigan - Chicken Joe's territory! Radical. He skis the sand dunes on the shore with really little snow, but shows the pure joy of skiing no matter where you live. Makes you want to smile - cool action and real heart for the sport.

Rider: Joe Tracks

Video 8: Mulletslav - A pair of ski shorts by Šimon Bartík

Šimon Bartík delivers an edit with his unmistakable touch: jump lines, tricks and pure joy. His yellow helmet is his trademark, and no matter where he is, he brings the sun with him. We accompany him through Europe's sessions - from Jib League to many other events. As a Downdays employee, he is everywhere, not only as a skier but also as press.

Rider: Šimon Bartík

Video 9: Inside a Skier's Home: Longer Than a Season | Elevenate x Janne

A life dedicated to skiing. Some people go skiing - Janne lives skiing. Coach of the Swedish Mogul team, he grew up in Åre and now lives in a side valley near Åre. I would like to live in Åre for a season one day and get to know the people there.

Rider: Janne

Video 10: Cold Boots and a Full Heart - An Adventure North with an All-Time Crew

The video shows Brandon Davis, known as Gimbal God, and his crew navigating through difficult snow in North America. They pack their bags, head north, meet John Jackson and camp in his RifRaf. Scenes show camping in the Bradywine parking lot, epic lines in the Whistler backcountry and impressive tricks in changing snow conditions.

Riders: Brandon Davis, John Jackson, Spencer O'Brien

Video 11: 50 Years of Freestyle Canada with Streetskier95

A little history lesson: It all started with the Canadian Airforce, and the video shows how the scene has developed to this day. Icons of the freestyle world come together here and give an insight into 50 years of ski culture in Canada.

Riders: Streetskier95

Video 12: "ATTN" Edouard Therriault (Edjoy) & Friends

Edouard Therriault, nominated as skier of the year by Newschoolers, is not active on Instagram but is releasing several film projects this year. The video accompanies him through the season at various events and shows his unique flavor in the park and on the street. It features teammates from Capeesh - and Joona Kangas is, as always, an absolute dream to watch.

Riders: Edouard Therriault, Olivia Asselin, Ferdinand Dahl, Daniel Bacher, Joona Kangas
