Videos of the Week #7 2025/26 | Endorphins

Hormones creating euphoria while skiing

12/05/2025
Hannes Hemper
Manon Loschi's first solo project will win you over. Travis Rice takes Estelle to Alaska, and Magma is back with her best movie. In addition, the Salomon-Depart team is on the search for the forest man, and Gnu Snowboards delivers the snowboard film of the year.

Video 1: ENDORPHIN | a ski film by Manon Loschi and Hunter Paull

The creative concept behind this film is the graphic representation of the endorphin release in skiers in various situations on the mountain. And Manon rocks: she won the first Natural Selection and is now following it up with this film. She has definitely upped her trick game, especially in terms of style. Her Cork 3 Safety is so cool, plus Cork 7 Blunt, big cliffs and fluid lines - from Japan to La Clusaz. The movie of the year for me! Hats off!

Rider: Manon Loschi.

Video 2: TKO by Magma and Owen Dahlberg

Alex and Hunter - Magma - are back with their best movie yet. Featuring a boxing intro by Tom Wallisch, mouth watering tricks and filmed by Osap! Definitely on the backcountry kicker and street side of things, even if there are no lines - still a must-watch. I was pleasantly surprised by Nalu's guest appearance: so stylish on skis! And then there's even a street part from OG Tom Wallisch!

Riders: Alex Hall, Hunter Hess, Tom Wallisch, Max Moffat, and Nalu Nussbaum.

Video 3: ÉTRANGE MÉLANGE by GNU Snowboards

A snowboard movie filmed on 16mm that wisely combines older snowboarders with fresh youngsters. Cannon's backcountry part is really strong - his riding style seems so casual and weightless! Endless vibes and for me one of the best snowboard videos of the season!

Riders: Cannon Cummins, Jadyn Chomlack, Austen Sweetin, Matteo Soltane, Mitchell Davern, Markus Rustad, Temple Cummins, Eric Jackson, Brayden Charette, Alex Kirkland and Antonio Astillero.

Video 4: Peak Performance | Shock of Dawn | Starring Yu Sasaki

Yu pulls lines in the backcountry, accompanied by poems and heavy tricks. He lives in Revelstoke and often makes guest appearances in Sammy Carlson videos. This year, he shows off some natural-hit double backflips, big threes over gaps and impressive pillow dances.

Rider: Yu Sasaki.

Video 5: Where the Woodwose Are by Salomon Depart

Another 16mm film, shot in Arosa Lenzerheide in Switzerland. Behind it is our creative mastermind Sämi Ortlieb. With cool animations, the troupe sets off in search of the Woodwose - in German "Wilder Mann" or "Waldmann". This figure is a mythical creature from medieval European mythology - often depicted as hair-covered and wild - similar to a classic satyr or faun. Stylish tricks, carved turns, beer and lots of fun. There's also an original soundtrack from the guys themselves.

Riders: Dane Kirk, Pontus Penttila, Sämi Ortlieb and Erik Olson.

Video 6: Travis Rice VS Alaskan Spines in "FINAL BOSS" with Estelle Pensiero

Travis, the GOAT of snowboarding, has returned to his kingdom of Alaska. The faces he finds and rides are just incredibly big and interesting! This time he has taken Estelle with him. As the daughter of the owner of Baldface Lodge, she has always been snowboarding and surrounded by pro riders from a young age. I even met her briefly last season in Nelson after she finished on the podium at the Natural Selection Qualifier in Whitewater. She is super cool, full of passion for the sport and is currently completing her training as a guide. The lines she pulls in the mountains resonate!

Riders: Travis Rice and Estelle Pensiero.

Video 7: Polar - A story about finding time... for skiing by Robert Pallin Aaring

Robert is a family man and shows in his film how he balances fatherhood, a full-time job and life as a pro skier. He skis at night, early in the morning or on vacation - just when it's possible. See for yourself! A visually very beautiful film with a message that is interesting for everyone, whether now or in the future.

Rider: Robert Pallin Aaring.

Video 8: AEVRA │ Julia Mehner and Max Draeger

A project close to their hearts in Lyngen, Norway. Sometimes you just have to adapt to the weather and the conditions of the mountains. The mountain doesn't remember us, but it reminds us of ourselves. A cool short film with an important message about behavior in the mountains. We are just guests, and sometimes you just have to adjust your pace.

Riders: Julia Mehner and Max Draeger

Podcast of the Week: Old Head New Head #29 Nico Zacek

Nico is the founder of Downdays and The Nines. He was also the first professional freestyle skier in Germany. He now lives in Portugal, having previously lived in Innsbruck for many years. His career as a professional athlete actually began in 2002 as a pro snowblader at K2. Listen for yourself - very interesting topics are covered, especially from the perspective of marketing and founding events.

Riders: Eric Iberg, Ethan Schafer and Nico Zacek.
