The Quickshift goggle comes with a self-tinting lens that automatically adjusts to the prevailing light conditions. Unlike old-school sunglasses, you don't notice that the lens gets darker or lighter, but visibility is optimal in all light conditions and it's nice not to have to think about whether to take the bad weather lens or the sunshine lens with you in the morning like with other goggles. The ventilation of the goggles, also in combination with the helmet, is excellent and I haven't had any fogged-up lenses on the descent so far.
Julbo has come up with something special for those who also like to wear the goggle on the ascent: Two pieces of the frame on the lower left and right edges of the goggle can be easily removed and replaced using a magnetic clip (see photos). Of course, this improves the ventilation even more. Personally, however, I have to say that I much prefer to use classic sunglasses on the ascent. I sweat quickly and the foam of the goggles would be completely soaked when I'm at the top, despite the ventilation. Incidentally, the extra ventilation is not suitable for the descent, as it makes my eyes water. But that's not what it's designed for.
Conclusion
The helmet & goggle combo is primarily aimed at freeriders and ski tourers, but of course also offers classic piste skiers everything they need. The low weight and good ventilation are not only an advantage on the ascent!
