PowderAlert 8 2017/18 | Episode VIII - The last alerts?
Lars Oelmann • 12/13/2017After Episode VII, "Ullr's Awakening with Power" in the West, now comes the sequel to the box office hit "PowderAlert" in almost the same regions. It continues the pattern of this winter, the "weekend trough". All weekend warriors will be particularly pleased and no one else will be complaining about a weekly supply of powder in the meter range. It will be a colorful action firework like the new Star Wars movie! (For anyone who is still wondering what I'm talking about here...) -

PowderAlert 7 2017/18 | südstau
Lars Oelmann • 12/09/2017As announced, the alerts continue seamlessly. It has started to snow in the west with the warm front and this will spread to the south. Ullr doesn't do things by halves, because the whole thing will be enormous and produce a massive blanket of snow in the south from a standing start. This will probably be the heaviest dump of the winter so far, but it will be warm and accompanied by foehn storms in the north. However, the amounts will be in the newspaper reporting range. #snowpocalyspenow! -

PowderAlert 6 2017/18 | Dumps from the assembly line
Lars Oelmann • 12/07/2017Ullr apparently wants to make this December unforgettable and sends one dump after the other. No end in sight in the coming week! It will get warmer from time to time, but the snow will keep falling down to below 1000m, so from 1000-1200m there should actually be a positive total. The next alert comes on Sunday, but more on that in the medium term. -

PowderAlert 5 2017/18 | Ullr is a ninja of the Far East
Lars Oelmann • 12/04/2017And like a ninja, he sneaks out of the shadows into the weather maps and turns inconspicuous amounts into a veritable alarm. The Oracle didn't take a close look and Zack hit Ullr, because the untrained eye is easily fooled by a ninja alert that looked like less than 30cm on the maps from the weekend. It was only because the Oracle happened to look at the radar that he realized something was going on. -

PowderAlert 4 2017/18 | Busy as Ullr
Lars Oelmann • 11/29/2017Similar to the last Bundesliga alarm, Ullr continues undeterred and brings us powder in painter mode. Because there are no isolated, brilliant mega-dumps from an eccentric artist god, but honest work, precisely for fans of the middle part of the Bundesliga who value consistency and regularity. And just as the skilled worker brings home a reliable pay packet every week, Ullr brings us our weekly refresh. -

PowderAlert 3 2017/18 | Ullr On the way to an unexcited season?
Lars Oelmann • 11/24/2017It's that time again, a new alarm is sounding. The oracle is not moping and the medium-term prospects are not bad either. All better than the last few years. If Ullr were a Bundesliga team, they wouldn't be on their way to the Champions League this year, but they wouldn't be on their way to their 4th relegation in a row either. A healthy midfield somewhere between 8th and 12th place would probably be the appropriate analogy for this winter. -

PowderAlert 2 2017/18 | To ski or not to ski?
Lars Oelmann • 11/11/2017As always, PowderAlert is about the existential things in life. To be or not to be; to ski or to stay at home. Decisions of Shakespearean proportions are on the agenda. -

PowderAlert 1 2017/18 | A first sign of life from Ullr
Lars Oelmann • 11/04/2017When snow forecast cards appear in the Facebook feed, then and only then is it officially winter. The Oracle, always waiting in the Ullr shrine, is of course also informed and is delighted that Ullr is sending out his first sign of life and returning to his kingdom. I would like to share this happy news with you. -

PowderAlert 19 2016/17 | The last of its kind
Lars Oelmann • 04/24/2017There will be alerts everywhere, with the focus in the south. The core areas are from Ticino to the Adamello/Upper Engadine and in the border triangle of Italy/Austria/Slovenia, although the whole thing is only likely to cause real joy on the glaciers there. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 18.2 2016/17 | More snow and unfortunately cooler temperatures later.
Lars Oelmann • 03/22/2017After Lord Voldemort almost ate Bella Swan in the first part of the Alert and you're wondering after such a cliffhanger whether our god and hero Ullr can still turn things around for the best, here comes the long-awaited answer: there's more snow, but unfortunately only cooler temperatures when most of it is through. So far, about a meter has fallen in Ticino and there has also been a lot of fresh snow north of the Gotthard region. Below 2000m, however, this morning's glory has already been lost to the warmth and thus to the Glop™. -

PowderAlert 18.1 2016/17 | Long-lasting snowfall in the south
Lars Oelmann • 03/20/2017This alert will probably be published in two parts, but then I'm in the best Belltristik and Hollywood company, because like Twilight and Harry Potter, at the end of this winter there's a story by Ullr, our favorite author and Powder screenwriter, that can't be squeezed into a single film or alert. And as with those movies, we at PowderGuide hope you'll be eager to read the second installment and pour hundreds of millions of euros into our coffers! -

PowderAlert 17 2016/17 | Warm snow from the northwest
Lars Oelmann • 03/16/2017Normally, snow from the north also means powder. Last week was different. This time, too, there's something wrong with Ullr's gifts: the coming fresh snow will probably not be usable below the tree line, as the snow line will also rise towards the end of the precipitation.
