Movie Review | Before Blank
03/09/2019 • Robert BachmannTo say it straight away: In my eyes, Before Blank is the best ski movie of the 18/19 season. It's been said. If you like, you can stop reading now and watch it on YouTube right now. If you want to know why I think that, you can follow my further comments. -

ISPO Partner News 2017 | Part II
02/26/2017 • Totti LingottiAs every year, PowderGuide is once again reporting on the new products from our partners at Ispo 2017 with a slight delay. Some of the articles have already been mentioned in the other ISPO reports, but here we will once again explicitly cover the ISPO highlights from our partners for the coming winter 2017/2018. The second part is about products from Dynafit, Icebreaker, Mammut, Marker, Salomon, Scott, Sweet Protection and Völkl. Have fun reading and find out about neon-colored skis, water-repellent wool, the new long-range Barryvöxes, heat-regulating helmets, ski touring boots with walk mode at the front and particularly light ski touring boots with walk mode at the back, a backpack with back protector and a few more efficient ski touring skis. -

Guilt Trip: A movie about skiing and guilt
12/04/2016 • Lea Hartl
Salomon TV (formerly Freeski TV) heads to Greenland in the latest edition. In addition to the film crew and the team riders, glaciologist Alun Hubbard is also on board. The pros have a guilty conscience because they pollute the environment with their many flights to exotic destinations and hope that their conscience can be soothed by helping a scientist with his work. Meaningful research? Or is it more of a show? And what was the snow like? We asked Professor Hubbard and Salomon Pro Chris Rubens a few questions about the movie. -

Story | How are skis actually made?
10/30/2016 • Lorenzo RiegIn spring, I was actually in Altenmarkt for something else when I was asked by Atomic's marketing department: "Would you like to have a look at our ski production?" Of course, I didn't have to think twice. It's not every day that you get the opportunity to see one of the big ski production facilities from the inside! -

ISPO 2016 | Ski
01/23/2016 • Tobias Huber
Part 1 of the ISPO Report 2016: You could almost copy the text of last year's ISPO article, because the biggest trend in ski models is still: 15% lighter. Sometimes even 20%, but mostly with the same shapes. Balsa or paulownia wood in combination with carbon or particularly light fiberglass, depending on the price range, promise the same performance with noticeably less weight on the foot. Weight is now being saved on all wider ski models, not just the uphill-oriented ones. -

Gear reviews | Salomon MNT Explore
01/16/2016 • Lorenzo RiegThanks to the successful Quest series, Salomon has long been an established name in the field of strongly downhill-oriented boots with a walking function. For the current season, the MNT Lab and the MNT Explore are the first two "real" ski touring boots. These already visually striking boots promise excellent downhill performance in addition to low weight and good ascent properties. We took a closer look at the "smaller" model, the MNT Explore.
