Gear review | The BOA® Fit System
11/02/2025 • Teja StüweSomething is happening on the ski boot market: the BOA® fastening system allows ski boots to be adjusted more easily, more quickly and, above all, more precisely. Instead of having to fiddle with several buckles, a twist lock ensures that the boot fits evenly around the foot via a cable system. The shoe wraps around your foot like a Boa snake and offers you a secure hold in a wide range of conditions. There's only one thing left to say: simply BOA! -

Videos of the Week #18 2024/25 | Tim is cool
04/11/2025 • Sebastian MüllerThe season is coming to an end. Go out again and put your head in the snow! I've put together a few moving images to get us in the mood and round off the season, first and foremost a film about a skier with Down's syndrome, but also with well-known heroes. -

03/08/2025 • Hannes Hemper
The season is nearing spring, only slush in the Alps, but on the other side of the world in Canada, there were still a few days of snow for the Natural Selection Women’s Tour in Whitewater. There’s also some BTS footage from snowboard filming, and Todd Ligare is back with a double video part! -

Gear of the Week | Christmas Special 2021
12/05/2021 • PowderGuideOne thing is clear, Christmas 2021 will once again be characterised by the coronavirus in one form or another. Unfortunately. So even at the beginning of December, many people are still not sure how they will spend Christmas, when they will get out into the snow, how the winter season, and in fact life as a whole, will continue over the next few months. -

Gear Review | Salomon TREK S/LAB snowboard boot
03/25/2021 • Patrick WehowskyFor years, the Salomon Malamute was (and still is) a good answer to the question of a solid, reliable freeride boot. Salomon had made a name for itself in the freeride community alongside Burton's Driver X and Deeluxe. -

Videos of the Week #5 2020/21 | This and that
12/18/2020 • Lea HartlSebastian, the curator of the Videos of the Week, is unfortunately unable to make it this time, so Lea has come up with a few video recommendations at short notice. It's a pretty mixed selection, but that's the way it is when the substitute has to step in! We start with a lecture on behavioral economics and avalanches, then turn our attention to the snowpack, then back to the human factor and finally to the best (?) of all ascent aids. -

Gear Review | Salomon S/LAB Premiere
01/16/2020 • Anselm KöhlerAfter about 50 touring days, the 4-piece splitboard has proven itself completely. 4-piece? Yes, during the ascent you carry the two centre sections on your backpack and therefore have two narrow ascent skis on your feet. Such concepts have existed for more than 15 years, and since 2014/15 Salomon has ventured into the 4-piece splitboard market with the Premiere. For me, it's my first 4-piece and there's no way around it on long tours ... -

Gear of the week | Christmas special
12/15/2019 • PowderGuide
It's getting cold outside, even in the previously barren northern Alps there is now at least some snow in most of the valleys and in the pedestrian zones of the world there are sometimes more, sometimes less tasteful Christmas lights. All of this is an unmistakable sign that Christmas, the end of the year and a new winter are on the horizon. -

We have a large-scale production worth seeing on offer, plus fresh vlogs from Italy, France and India, and finally we round things off with an in-house explanatory video, but see for yourself!
