PowderAlert 9 2017/18 | The Saga Continues
12/15/2017 • Lars OelmannNo, I haven't seen the new Star Wars yet, but our all-time favorite movie called "Best early winter in ages" is going into the next round. It's 150-300% of the long-term average on the northern slope of the Swiss Alps and the rest of the northern slope of the Alps isn't doing too badly either. And it continues here until Monday! -

PowderAlert 16 2016/17 | North jam with errors
03/07/2017 • Lars OelmannMarch is shaping up to be a veritable winter month and there's plenty more to come on top of the existing base as Ullr is working overtime on the atmospheric machine. The only fly in the ointment is the significantly higher snow line than recently. -

PowderAlert No. 13 2015
02/07/2015 • Lars OelmannIt has already started today, the northern congestion. Unfortunately for everyone west of the Kitzbühel Alps, there won't be much of it until Tuesday. PowderAlert 9/2014 | Powder in the north at last
01/24/2014 • Lars OelmannThere is fresh snow in the north. After all. Unfortunately, the whole thing has been canceled out in the last two days, but there should still be enough for an alert in the northwestern Alpine arc by Monday evening. The snow line fits everywhere. Only the amounts are not at all euphoria-inducing. -

Freeride tour of the week | Angeralm, Krippenstein
01/26/2012 • Heli PutzPersistent snowfall in the northern Alps and often poor visibility. In these current conditions, a freeride descent in the forest close to the lift is often a good idea. This week's freeride tour fulfills the best conditions for this and does not require an ascent. The Angeralm is THE freeride descent on the Krippenstein. 1500 vertical meters of descent in varied and extensive terrain.
