Videos of the Week #3 2026/27 | Clouds

Like Floating on Clouds – States of Sinking

11/06/2026
Hannes Hemper
Clouds, clouds, Nicholas clouds! Powder runs that make your knees go weak. A journey in search of the flow state in the mountains, your own rhythm, and a lifestyle defined entirely by skiing. Could this be Paddy Graham’s last ski film? And this film impressively shows why Chile should be on every skier’s bucket list. But my personal favorite of the week remains the “Mindbender Live Score”: a custom music jam combined with stylish tricks.

Video 1: KORUA Shapes - "Clouds: States of Submersion"

Koruo has an unmistakable style: the boards glow red, and the videos are in black and white. This new project treats us to slow-motion powder moments that make time stand still—moments where you could count every single snowflake. And who better to embody the theme of clouds than Nicholas Wolken? Thanks for these shots, Matt Foley!

Rider: Nicholas Wolken

Video 2: Arc'teryx Presents: Like Riding a Cloud

Collective flow. Together with performance psychologist Dr. John Coleman, the Arc’teryx team explores what that means to them in the mountains. Beautiful and heartfelt reflections on togetherness and teamwork in the mountains. We’ve all been there: you see a friend pull off a perfect turn and feel as if you did it yourself. The opening camerawork is phenomenal—keyword: clouds.

Riders: Tatum Monod, Elena Hight, Victor Daviet, and Craig Murray

Video 3: The Distance That We Shared - 共有する距離 by Gavin Rudy

Gavin is part of the Salomon Depart Team, a creative filmmaker and skier. He takes us into the world of Japanese pro skiers. Tenra Katsuno, whom many know from the FWT, and street skiers—but all of them are powder surfers. His editing style perfectly captures Japanese culture with snippets from films and adds his own touch through the background music and sound effects. A touching video and some seriously great skiing.

Video 4: Continuum by Rab

A rhythm for life. We follow Doug Evans, whose passion for skiing first put him on skis 282 months ago—no matter the season. His relationship with nature changes with the seasons, but one thing remains constant: his determination and devotion to the sport. A cool role model.

Video 5: Mindbender Live Score by Jacques Price

To celebrate the release of K2’s new Mindbender series, Jacques Price and Carson Sharp present a film that, for me, brings together several highlights all at once. I love Carson’s cinematography—and this film in particular. It also features a live jam by Roland Danemann and stylish skiing by Jasper and Daniel. Their switch landings in the powder are especially awesome! So: Turn up the music, put your phone away, and enjoy the film!

Riders: Jasper Skidmore and Daniel Johnson

Video 6: My Craziest Adventure Yet by Gimbal God

Spencer has made a name for himself as one of the best follow-cam filmmakers in the snowboarding scene and has been delivering some of the most impressive snowboarding shots ever for years. His new favorite destination: Chile. In his film, he takes us on a journey through the past few years as he’s explored the country’s mountains. The footage is simply breathtaking and leaves you speechless. If that doesn’t make you want to visit Chile, there’s no hope for you!

Video 7: We Can’t Not – A Ski Film About Filming a Ski Film by Legs of Steel

Paddy Graham, one of England’s best-known freeskiers, has been making ski films for nearly 20 years—and this might be his last; who knows? With this film, he’s trying to show his family why he does all this and what skiing and filmmaking mean to him. Will he succeed? A little bit, but you can probably only truly understand it once you’ve experienced it yourself. It’s especially wonderful how Paddy uses his years of experience to give these ski icons a platform and bring their stories, personalities, and backgrounds to life. The film captivates with plenty of humor and a fantastic soundtrack by Cari Cari, curated specifically for this project. Add to that some of the world’s best skiers: Kye Petersen, the Canadian ski god; Finn Bilous with his New Zealand energy boost; Tom Ritsch, the Austrian ice-water spirit; and Markus Eder, Mr. Ultimate. Together with Christoph Thoresen’s film crew, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the world of professional ski film production and reveal just how much work, passion, and chaos go into a project like this.

Riders: Paddy Graham, Kye Petersen, Markus Eder, Tom Ritsch, Finn Bilous

Video 8: Ep. 7 Norway, Part 1. Hunting Classics // THE GRAND SKI TOUR // DAVE SEARLE

Dave Searle is a mountaineer and mountain guide. With his project, The Grand Ski Tour, he aims to explore the 50 best ski mountaineering descents in Europe and document them in a book. In this episode, he travels to Norway to realize his dream of skiing classic couloirs on the Lyngen Peninsula. Due to difficult snow conditions, neither the Godmother Couloir nor the Hastings Couloir are skiable. Together with local mountain guide Finn Kristoffer Hovem, he therefore explores alternative destinations. Accompanied by three Norwegian women, he finally climbs Tverrbakktinden. Despite the disappointing conditions, he bids farewell with the words: “I’ll be back!”

Video 9: HOTLAPS • ASPEN • Taz & Wacko

My favorite park filmmaker, Andrew Gaida, captures Tristan Feinberg and Jackson Wells (Wacko) at their best. This is park skiing at the highest level: every shifty, every tap, and every move seems perfectly choreographed and flows effortlessly into the next trick. A stylish edit that instantly has you daydreaming.

Riders: Tristan Feinberg and Jackson Wells

Video 10: STARGAZERS | LUNDY & FLINDERS

The team is back with its latest project: futuristic editing meets world-class skiing. Dillon Flinders and Alex Lundstrom are on the hunt for the best powder while keeping an eye out for signs in the sky. Whether in British Columbia, Japan, or Utah—they leave no stone unturned and always keep their eyes on the sky. My favorite moment: Wei Tien Ho’s guest appearance.

Riders: Dillon Flinders, Alex Lundstrom, Wei Tien Ho, Yosuke Fuji, Megan Dingman

Podcast of the Week: Video 11: Finding the Best Snow for Skiing and Snowboarding with Powderchaser Steve

Powderchaser Steve is a passionate snowboarder from Colorado who has been analyzing weather models, snowfall, and wind directions for about 30 years to find the best powder. In addition to his day job, he has built the Powder Chasers platform, through which he shares snow forecasts and powder alerts with others.

Here, he explains how he uses his experience, weather knowledge, and local insights to plan his powder runs, often traveling spontaneously between different states and combining his career with his passion. He also talks about the fascination of powder hunting, the unpredictability of the weather, and why safety and recognizing hazards are more important than getting as much fresh snow as possible.
