  Once again, the Austrian Board of Trustees for Alpine Safety organized the Alpine Forum as part of the Innsbruck Alpine Trade Fair. Every year, numerous experts report to an interested specialist audience on a highly topical and hotly debated subject. The trend towards more and more mountain rescue missions in summer and winter, the increasing pressure to perform, the professionalization of alpinism and the winter topics of avalanches, falls and cold led to this year's key question: "Mountaineering - only healthy?". This question was explored in four different thematic blocks. We at PowderGuide were able to take part in the exciting presentations, the sometimes heated debates and the impressive field reports and would like to report on our personal highlights below.

  Many ski tourers still leave the fitting and adjustment of bindings to the specialists, although at least the adjustment of bindings is not particularly complicated. But are you actually allowed to adjust bindings yourself? Legally, this is a grey area. In theory, insurance companies can demand proof of binding adjustment by a specialist in the event of a claim, but in practice this happens extremely rarely. Adjusting your own bindings helps you to better understand your own equipment and to be able to help yourself in the case of a problem in the terrain. So it's worth trying at least once. And in case of doubt? You can always ask a specialist for help.

  Autumn has brought us several weeks of beautiful high-pressure weather and has melted away most of the snow from September, but winter is slowly picking up speed again. Time to pay a visit to the Sport Conrad shop in Penzberg. The shop covers over 2000 square metres and focuses on freeride, alpine skiing, ski touring, snowboarding and splitboarding, especially in winter. Sebastian is already waiting for us, he has been working as a salesman at Sport Conrad for several years.
