PowderAlert No. 12 2015 | The Exotic Dump
02/03/2015 • Lars Oelmann
Now that the Northern Alps and the Pyrenees have been raised from two below-average stars to four-star report level in 7 days, our favorite Nordic god is taking on the south of the Alps - and not the classic south of the last Southern Alps, but the more exotic spots that haven't done so well so far. -

PowderAlert No. 11 2015 | The Lord of the Powder - Part One: Ullr's Companions
01/27/2015 • Lars Oelmann
Well, it won't be quite that extreme, but Ullr is finally flexing its muscles in the north this winter and is guaranteed to lure most freeriders to the Alps. This alert is valid until Saturday and then theoretically part two ("The two dumps") should follow from Saturday to Monday, depending on marginal lows, for which it is not yet clear whether they will come at all. -

PowderAlert No. 10 2015 | Before the big dump
01/25/2015 • Lars OelmannFirst of all: Ullr's demonstration of power and the model snow apocalypse from a few days ago will probably not happen at the end of this week, so you can use your bunkers as party cellars again, mothball the shotguns and turn your Madmax cars with armor back into the KIA combos they once were. -

PowderAlert No. 9 2015 | Second helpings in the south
01/20/2015 • Lars OelmannTrue to the motto "when it's on, it's on", Ullr is reflecting on its performance last week and sending supplies south just in time for the weekend. The whole thing starts today and will be finished on Friday morning. It won't be a proper dump but a fun replenishment on the soft base. -

PowderAlert No. 8 2015 | Snow for everyone!
01/14/2015 • Lars OelmannAfter the winter in the north hasn't really worked out recently and most of the old year has melted away, Ullr is returning to its old virtues and remembering the base that it had already distributed in the south above 2000 m in November. So a small südstau is on the cards. But the north, from France to the Arlberg, should also be affected by the passage of the small low, albeit with small amounts of fresh snow. -

PowderAlert No. 7 2015 | Snowfall limit game of chance
01/02/2015 • Lars Oelmann
After the last real north jam, the powder slats are in and everyone is keen for a repeat, but before everyone goes "all in" like a poker game and pushes their powder chips into the Alps, it should be said that some will lose: The sticking point is the snow line, as it varies greatly from west to east. -

PowderAlert No. 6 2014/15 | Nordstau
12/28/2014 • Lars Oelmann
After the last congestion has passed and the coreshots are being repaired, Ullr comes up with the idea of giving our rather dry northerly flow a bit more pep than the models have seen in the last few days and creates a small active boundary disturbance that brings us powder. So this much less sad alert comes as quite a surprise. Less sad because we have a base. At least below the tree line. -

PowderAlert No. 5 2014/2015 | Finally an alert
12/25/2014 • Lars OelmannI dust off my electronic parchment, sharpen my wit and am pleased to present you with the first alarm of the meteorological winter. Ullr has seen sense and we are finally switching from late October to winter. Oh wait, wrong... There was more snow in the northern Alps at the end of October. -

PowderAlert No. 4 2014/2015 | Südstau III
11/13/2014 • Lars Oelmann
New dump, old neighborhood. Ullr does the triple and sends another dump to the south. This time a cold front follows, so a few flakes may also fall in the north. -

PowderAlert No. 3 2014/2015 | The same procedure as last year?
11/08/2014 • Lars OelmannThe same procedure as every year? Is Ullr behaving like in the New Year's Eve classic Dinner for one? Another südstau, another massive dump. Is this becoming a habit again, is Ullr no longer very imaginative and taking the dump blueprints from last year? -

PowderAlert No. 2 2014/2015
11/02/2014 • Lars OelmannMost people are rubbing their eyes in amazement, because as soon as the northern congestion has melted away again, the next dump comes. And this time Ullr's disciples have a little dejavue, because that's what it looked like all the time in 13/14, right? Catastrophic amounts of snow in the south and warm foehn in the north. -

PowderAlert No. 1 2014/2015 | Ullr's season opener
10/20/2014 • Lars OelmannAfter sweating it out on the bike last weekend at just under 2000 m and 15 degrees, Ullr now suddenly decides to take over the sceptre of the seasons from the sun god Ra and we hurtle from high summer into high winter. The first dump is coming up.
