PowderAlert No. 7 2015 | Snowfall limit game of chance
Lars Oelmann • 01/02/2015After the last real north jam, the powder slats are in and everyone is keen for a repeat, but before everyone goes "all in" like a poker game and pushes their powder chips into the Alps, it should be said that some will lose: The sticking point is the snow line, as it varies greatly from west to east. -

PowderAlert No. 6 2014/15 | Nordstau
Lars Oelmann • 12/28/2014After the last congestion has passed and the coreshots are being repaired, Ullr comes up with the idea of giving our rather dry northerly flow a bit more pep than the models have seen in the last few days and creates a small active boundary disturbance that brings us powder. So this much less sad alert comes as quite a surprise. Less sad because we have a base. At least below the tree line. -

PowderAlert No. 5 2014/2015 | Finally an alert
Lars Oelmann • 12/25/2014I dust off my electronic parchment, sharpen my wit and am pleased to present you with the first alarm of the meteorological winter. Ullr has seen sense and we are finally switching from late October to winter. Oh wait, wrong... There was more snow in the northern Alps at the end of October. -

PowderAlert No. 4 2014/2015 | Südstau III
Lars Oelmann • 11/13/2014New dump, old neighborhood. Ullr does the triple and sends another dump to the south. This time a cold front follows, so a few flakes may also fall in the north. -

PowderAlert No. 3 2014/2015 | The same procedure as last year?
Lars Oelmann • 11/08/2014The same procedure as every year? Is Ullr behaving like in the New Year's Eve classic Dinner for one? Another südstau, another massive dump. Is this becoming a habit again, is Ullr no longer very imaginative and taking the dump blueprints from last year? -

PowderAlert No. 2 2014/2015
Lars Oelmann • 11/02/2014Most people are rubbing their eyes in amazement, because as soon as the northern congestion has melted away again, the next dump comes. And this time Ullr's disciples have a little dejavue, because that's what it looked like all the time in 13/14, right? Catastrophic amounts of snow in the south and warm foehn in the north. -

PowderAlert No. 1 2014/2015 | Ullr's season opener
Lars Oelmann • 10/20/2014After sweating it out on the bike last weekend at just under 2000 m and 15 degrees, Ullr now suddenly decides to take over the sceptre of the seasons from the sun god Ra and we hurtle from high summer into high winter. The first dump is coming up. -

Long-term gear review | Salomon Guardian WTR 16
Lars Oelmann • 03/28/2014I've been using the Salomon Guardian for over a season now and it's time to draw a conclusion. From Andermatt to Alaska and from hardpack to bottomless powder, the binding has had to put up with a lot and I want to report on it... -

PowderAlert 16/2014 | The alarm after the drought
Lars Oelmann • 03/20/2014After weeks of television weather forecasters rejoicing and finding warm temperatures 10 degrees above average and sunshine "totally great", the heat is finally over and we are rejoicing because Ullr is not leaving the field to summer without a sound, but is at least giving it a serious fight back. -

PowderAlert 15/2014 | Südstau Ahoy!
Lars Oelmann • 02/27/2014After it has been rather quiet in the Alarmecke recently with several small snowfalls and steeper things to tackle in the touring terrain, the powder pirates are getting excited again, as there is südstau and new opportunities to have some lazy fun in the powder from the lift. Once again. In the north, we can probably kiss the season goodbye when we look at the forecast warmth for next week. -

PowderAlert 14/2014 | Temperature rollercoaster at the weekend
Lars Oelmann • 02/11/2014First of all, the following: It's not snowing in the south for once, but in the west and it won't start snowing again in the south until Sunday afternoon. -

PowderAlert 13/2014 | A mini-dump that everyone likes
Lars Oelmann • 02/05/2014The southern winter won't be really boring for Ullr, but he's turning the screws so that snow is also coming to the north and especially the west.
