PowderAlert 4 2024/25 | Start of the season in the south.
01/05/2025 • Lars OelmannYou're supposed to have good intentions in the new year and the oracle wants to be less serene and more enthusiastic in his old age. Ullr also takes heart and wants to give us more powder. -

PowderAlert 9 2023/24 | Southern Comfort
02/21/2024 • Lars OelmannWhen Ullr takes a rest from work in the evening, he treats himself and us to a Southern Comfort, because he feels at home in the Dolce Vita and invites us to take another trip to the Southern Alps. -

PowderAlert 1 2019/20 | First attempts at sliding in the south at last
11/11/2019 • Lars OelmannNew winter, new happiness. All aboard the Pow Train! Uh, or something like that. Nice to be back. Now that there's a minimal base from 2000-2200m, which even goes further down in places, you might even be able to ride the upcoming minidump carefully. Ullr is slowly warming up and will be sending some supplies until Wednesday evening to even out the settlement. In the east, however, there could already be quite a lot after this alarm. -

PowderAlert 19 2016/17 | The last of its kind
04/24/2017 • Lars OelmannThere will be alerts everywhere, with the focus in the south. The core areas are from Ticino to the Adamello/Upper Engadine and in the border triangle of Italy/Austria/Slovenia, although the whole thing is only likely to cause real joy on the glaciers there. -

PowderAlert 12 2016/17 | Kick-off to exciting times in the south
02/26/2017 • Lars Oelmann
There's finally an alarm again. And even if it's hard to believe here in Ticino, it's winter. Something is happening that can once again be described as a onset of winter in this prolonged late fall. And it doesn't even seem to be a flash in the pan, but more on that at the end in the medium-term outlook. -

PowderAlert 10 2016/17 | Complex situation with snow in the south and west.
02/01/2017 • Lars OelmannIt's a bit complicated with Ullr. First he sends more snow to the north than expected, but also a high snow line. Now he changes the setup without further ado and less snow is expected in the south, but more in the west. In addition, it may only be the first alert and a second one will follow on Saturday for Sunday Monday. -

PowderAlert 3 2016/17 | South jam kick-off
11/17/2016 • Lars OelmannAfter Ullr has already brought a nice winter constellation in the north and west, it's now the south's turn. There's also enough for alerts in the west, but they'll be rather short-lived. This alert is valid until Sunday morning before new precipitation sets in again on Sunday evening. -

PowderAlert 17 2015/16 | A last hurrah?
04/15/2016 • Lars OelmannIt's mid-April and winter is slowly saying goodbye. The snow line creeps southwards into the high Alps and we study the weather maps hopefully to see if powder is on the way. The disciples of Ullr can actually saddle up their poles once again and go hunting. -

PowderAlert No. 5 - The next attempt
01/08/2016 • Lars OelmannAfter the last alarm was rather disappointing and it was also quite warm, Ullr finally wants to do us some good and is sending snow again; lots of snow... -

PowderAlert No. 15 2015 | Südstau-Bundesliga
02/20/2015 • Lars OelmannI'd like to welcome everyone to the 5th matchday of the Südstaubundesliga and hope you're looking forward to exciting matches with the Saturday powder as much as I am. Because just in time for the weekend, as with the Bundesliga, the Südstau is starting again and alarming amounts are coming from southwestern Piedmont via Monte Rosa and Ticino to Adamello and the French southwest. This time the models don't show anything further east and there are probably no positive surprises in terms of the track (after the poor Dolomites were very disappointed last week), because it's the same areas as always in the south that are getting snow this winter. -

PowderAlert No. 14 2015 | Südstau Alaaf!
02/12/2015 • Lars OelmannThe last alarm for a while, Ullr thinks, and sends us the next pack of Pow in the Alps, just in time for the carnival vacations. Ullr seems to have a soft spot for carnival fans and sends snow to the south and southwest. And in all likelihood, there will be a lot of it by Tuesday. This alert is only valid until Sunday, but I'll try to give you an idea of the total amounts. -

PowderAlert No. 9 2015 | Second helpings in the south
01/20/2015 • Lars OelmannTrue to the motto "when it's on, it's on", Ullr is reflecting on its performance last week and sending supplies south just in time for the weekend. The whole thing starts today and will be finished on Friday morning. It won't be a proper dump but a fun replenishment on the soft base.
