The last summit of this year's Freeride Testival Tour had everything a freerider's heart could desire. Bright blue skies, fresh snow and cold temperatures made for a worthy end to the Testival season. And of course there were once again great prizes to be won in the snow depth prediction game!

The legendary PowderGuide snow depth prediction game will be at the Freeride Testival stops four times this winter - and each time you can win great prizes. PowderGuide will be present at all stops to hand out the prizes directly. Now at the last stop on the Stubai Glacier from March 21st to 22nd, 2026, you can take home unique prizes from Faction, Head, Kohla and Scott Sports worth almost 2,000 euros!

Bergstolz's big ski test has been taking place every winter for years now - at the end of March 2025, we found the best freeride conditions in Hochfügen, Zillertal. At the end of the season, Ms. Holle meant good once again. Dozens of skiers tested freeride skis from over 25 brands in four different categories. We took a closer look at a few models from the large selection and summarized our impressions in this article.

After the successful stops in Hochfügen and Montafon, the Freeride Testival 2026 returned to Warth-Schröcken for its third stop. PowderGuide was once again part of the action. In perfect spring weather and firn, we were not only able to put numerous skis through their paces, but also present our newly launched weather map to the public!

This week's highlights: Max Palm's new short film, which impresses with its versatility and cinematic style. The K2 team trip to Japan takes us to endless powder slopes and stylish park moments. And the Five Blind Mice venture into the absolute wilderness while snow camping in Alaska - six days, two tents, pure thirst for adventure. As always, you’ll get the latest clips from the heroes of my generation and the best picks from my YouTube subscriptions. Today, Xavier de le Rue makes a comeback with a new VLOG, Sam Anthamatten is honoured, Candide Thovex shines once again in a 47-second video and Gerhard Wiedemann tells us about his last ski tour in a relaxed manner. I never get enough of these guys!

Winter will change, for the better or worse. Meteorology tries to predict these changes, but the VdW realise that things change and are embracing them, no matter what. And of course, we keep dreaming, night and day!

Watch out! The season is already in full swing and before you know it, everything will be slush again! Just don't let the social media feeds tell you that you've already missed so much and stay calm and stoked! It's not too late yet! Let's go!

Faction is now well established as a pure freeski brand, but is still an (almost) unknown agent in the touring ski sector. With the Agent series, Faction now has an interesting touring ski line in its programme, although it is perhaps worth noting that the models marked with an "X", i.e. Agent 1.0X, Agent 2.0X and so on, are basically the same skis.

ISPO, an interesting but also very exhausting trade fair, has been postponed from January to autumn. However, we at PowderGuide are still doing our best to provide you with information about the material for the upcoming season.

Since my antiquated Marmot work glove is slowly giving up because the leather is getting thin and the seams are tearing in places, I've been looking around for a replacement.

You can look back on many things: Mountain tours, vacations and alpine clubs. Today, a few ski companies have imposed themselves on me with their films, and I'm devoting my attention to them. The Freeride World Tour has also started and TGR is working on an accident.
