Freeride Film Festival

The season finale for many snowboarders took place in the best weather and a great atmosphere! A race where winning comes third, with over 700 participants from very young to "relatively" old - and PowderGuide is right in the middle of it instead of just being there.

Into Altai with French pro snowboarder Victor Daviet: yurts, camels, deep snow, and a Super-8 camera. A conversation about snowboarding, risk management, simplicity, and the kind of adventure that stays with you long after the trip ends.

The Prime Tour of the Freeride Film Festival (FFF) celebrated its end on Thursday with a sold-out auditorium (750 people) at the Gartenbaukino in Vienna. But the FFF has only just picked up speed. Included in the line-up are six fascinating, exciting and thematically diverse freeride films, which are categorized and rounded off by the on-screen moderation of Harry Putz and Lena Öller. The festival is also bringing its legendary raffle to some cinemas, with great prizes to be won.

PowderGuide is a partner of this year's Freeride Film Festival and is bringing the legendary PG snow depth prediction game to Innsbruck. Of course, everyone can take part, even those who are not at the Metropol Cinema. Directly above the venue is the Nordkette/Seegrube snow hole close to the city. But how much fresh snow is there on the Seegrube in an average season?

There is one thing you can take away from last winter: It can only get better. In terms of the amount of snow, the winter was weak and had long enough dry spells between new snowfalls. This winter got off to a better start. The first PowderAlert came unexpectedly early, and the first ConditionsReports have already arrived and look promising. Let's keep our fingers crossed for Ullr that it will once again cover the mountains properly. Of course, the snow depth prediction game is back - this time in the 10th anniversary edition or tradition!

This year, the Freeride Film Festival will once again start its Prime Tour in Innsbruck at the beginning of November and run in over 200 cinemas across Europe until mid-January. But this year is a special year, because PowderGuide is part of the Prime Tour for the first time. We await you in Innsbruck with our classic, the snow height tip game, and a few more surprises.

The FreerideFilmFestival is back on tour and will be showing six truly wonderful international freeride films that will make you extremely excited for the upcoming season. The focus is not only on the action, but also on the stories and creativity of the filmmakers and their messages to the audience.

Engelberg is a true paradise for winter sport and freeride enthusiasts. The region offers unrivalled opportunities for ski touring and freeriding. The Titlis massif is also very favourably situated for snow and receives fresh snow in both westerly and north-westerly accumulations. Engelberg's Big 5 off-piste runs are particularly well-known and have already been explained in more detail by Sebastian in the article Freeride Eldorado Engelberg-Titlis | PowderGuide, if you're curious.

Planet Earth keeps on spinning and the freeride scene and its filmmakers keep on making their films! And the protagonists, they also keep on turning and turning and turning! We are pleased to note that all kinds of new films have been created and that individualisation is progressing. Modern motifs are carefully handled by some productions and completely ignored by others, as in the more or less good old days.

As in previous years, the Freeride Film Festival is going on tour again this year. Filmmakers and riders will once again visit cities in Austria, Germany and Poland. This year, national and international productions will be shown, including "Mission Steeps" with Samuel Anthamatten, Xavier De Le Rue and Andreas Fransson, who was recently involved in an accident.

Full, full, - Freeride Film Festival. That was the first impression you got at this year's tour stop in Vienna. The queues at the box office, at the advance ticket collection and at the face check at the entrance were enormous.
