A beautiful firn classic through an imposing wall. An undertaking not to be underestimated with an approach that is not easy to find. However, you will be rewarded with a sunrise and a wonderful descent with magnificent views of the distance and depths.

Anyone heading south through and over the Gotthard has to pass it: at 3073 m, it is not even particularly high, but at a dizzying 2500 m, it towers majestically over the flat valley floor of the Reuss valley in Uri. This fact alone, in addition to its prominence, beauty of form and steepness, makes it a dream destination. But one that is anything but a gift!

In the Lattengebirge mountains, just a 20-minute drive from Salzburg, there are three steep gullies that could not be more beautiful. Rarely hiked, but very worthwhile, the Alpgartenrinne catches the eye even from Salzburg!

The Canalone Neri on the Cima Tosa is probably one of the most perfect gullies in the Alps. 900 vertical meters, north-facing and steep throughout, the gully is also located in a very impressive landscape!

Ski touring guides are now almost a dime a dozen. But the relatively new guide "Freeski Alpin" by Reini Scherer is a very special one. Initially, it is dedicated to a single mountain range, the Mieminger Kette, but aims to document all possible downhill variants there. As a result, significantly more difficult and dangerous routes are described than in almost all other guides from German-speaking countries.

The Marmolada not only has a lot to offer climbers, skiers also get their money's worth on this mighty ridge. A particular highlight for steep face skiers is the north face of the highest peak, Punta Penia.

The Brenva flank rises high above the Glacier du Géant, the Giant's Glacier, not far from the highest mountain in the Alps. To the east, on the Tour Ronde, is the mighty Gervasutti, probably one of the most famous couloirs in the Alps. A top-class destination for excellent skiers!

The Chevalier Couloir is relatively little used, at least if you consider its easy accessibility from the Grands Montet mountain station. However, it is an interesting, consistently steep couloir, even if the start admittedly often presents some difficulties.

The beautiful Cristallo Group in the Dolomites with the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo is not only a meeting place for the rich and famous, but also the perfect place for alpine activities and steep face skiing.

It starts with an email from a friend: "Have you seen this line through the cave?" he asks, adding a link to the website of a local extreme skier who had skied this unique descent through natural caves and tunnels. When I see the pictures, I can hardly believe my eyes: simply amazing! Skiing through a cave system. We simply have to do this descent. The plan is quickly made. Together with my (ski) partner Sandra and a friend, we set off for the "Chourum Olympique", the name of this unique cave couloir.

Visible from afar, the Weißseespitze rises above the Kaunertal glacier ski area. The north face is often climbed in early summer and is also extremely popular with ice climbers.
