PowderAlert 5 2022/23 | Last exit, Austria!
Lars Oelmann • 01/31/2023The alarming title sounds like an arthouse adaptation of an Elfriede Jelinek book and evokes associations with chamber plays in which beer-bellied men in Burgenland struggle with their fate in dark pubs. -

PowderAlert 4 2022 /23 | On the hunt for the average
Lars Oelmann • 01/14/2023In this alarm you can almost finally ski like in a normal season! Joy! The only downside: unfortunately only in Lower Valais and France. -

PowderAlert 3 2022/23 | Restart in January
Lars Oelmann • 01/08/2023This could be a great season if there is already so much snow in October. Oh wait.... The amount of CRs on PowderGuide makes the sad situation clear. Below 2220m there is virtually nothing and above that we are at 30-60% of the long-term average. -

PowderAlert 2 2022/23 | Dump or shower?
Lars Oelmann • 12/22/2022This freeride year is starting like the old one ended. Tough and with little snow. And Christmas brings little relief, because true to the motto "champagne or seltzer", seltzer or a shower is the order of the day for most of us. It rains all the way up and the almost non-existent snow cover continues to thaw. In the high mountains, the converted scrap is covered with drift snow. Fantastic views.... not! -

PowderAlert 1 2022/23 | 3, 2, 1, Lift off!
Lars Oelmann • 12/02/2022Houston, we have a dump. It's season 22/23, and the PowderGuide spaceship is exploring the endless expanses of the Alps in search of the infinite depths of powder. With this first alarm, we set off on what we hope will be a long and deep season in which Ullr will give us many gifts. -

PowderAlert 15 2021/22 | The Final Countdown?
Lars Oelmann • 04/06/2022Ullr wants to give it another go before most ski resorts slowly but surely close after Easter. And with the best 80s synthesizer fanfares, he bravely boxes on like Rocky in the big showdown, knowing full well that his time has actually come. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 14 2021/22 | An alarm? now? Yes, finally!
Lars Oelmann • 03/30/2022Winter. Endless boredom. These are the adventures of the PowderAlert spaceship, which is finally allowed to explore new slopes, deep powder and cool temperatures. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 13 2021/22 | North jam, where (almost) everything fits!
Lars Oelmann • 02/20/2022At last. The time has come. Ullr sends us a traffic jam where it doesn't rain heavily, it doesn't warm up immediately, or the Dutch and Piefkes invade the promised land of Tyrol. (Because they're more likely to go to Switzerland this time). -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 12 2021/22 | Better than nothing!
Lars Oelmann • 02/16/2022After a small Italian low pressure system brought between 20 and 30 cm of fresh snow to the south (even just above the alert limit in the Julian Alps), it's now time for some fresh snow in the northwest. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 11 2021/22 | Short and windy.
Lars Oelmann • 02/06/2022It starts to snow and the oracle forgets about the snow? No, not at all. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 10 2021/22 | North jam for everyone!
Lars Oelmann • 01/30/2022Ullr takes heart in best politician style and promises everything to everyone! At least in the German-speaking Alpine region, things should be going quite well from Monday. (German-speaking regions south of the main Alpine ridge may forgive me this simplification...) -

PowderAlert 9 2021/22 | Finally in the East!
Lars Oelmann • 01/20/2022Court councillors, horse-drawn carriage drivers and Sissi fans finally have reason to cheer, because unlike many, many alarms, today it's not "from France to the Arlberg", but Ullr makes Felix Austria happy.
