02/20/2022 • Lars OelmannAt last. The time has come. Ullr sends us a traffic jam where it doesn't rain heavily, it doesn't warm up immediately, or the Dutch and Piefkes invade the promised land of Tyrol. (Because they're more likely to go to Switzerland this time). -

PowderAlert 12 2021/22 | Better than nothing!
02/16/2022 • Lars OelmannAfter a small Italian low pressure system brought between 20 and 30 cm of fresh snow to the south (even just above the alert limit in the Julian Alps), it's now time for some fresh snow in the northwest. -

11/30/2021 • Lars OelmannGet ready for freerider drop. The ongoing alarm, or rather the small appendage at the moment, ensures that the forecast amounts are even exceeded. More than a meter of fresh snow has fallen on the northern slope of the Alps. Good thing Ullr doesn't have to work from home! -

PowderAlert 14 2020/21 | Ullr against the trend
04/05/2021 • Lars OelmannIn contrast to the last few years and the fears after the summery episode in March, there is now another nice alarm in April! With a northerly thaw and heavy showers and possibly record high altitude cold! (MeteoSwiss says: If minus 40 really does reach the Alps at an altitude of 5000m, you have to go back to 1973 to find anything comparable). -

TouringTip | Pierriers d'Arpette
03/29/2021 • Sebastian SiepThe Val d'Arpette in the Lower Valais is well known for small and large freeride tours in the northern sector. Nevertheless, even weeks after the last snowfall, you can still find powder on the predominantly north-facing slopes and gullies, which is probably rarely fully skied out. -

PowderAlert 12 2020/21 | Warming up for Ullr
03/10/2021 • Lars OelmannThe average citizen fears it, the freerider hopes for it: late winter is coming. Ullr uses this alarm to warm up properly after the long break and to test his muscles. Before, hopefully, really getting stuck in next week. More on this in the medium term. After a more or less empty February, it's finally time to get going again!
