PowderAlert 7 2023/24 | Better than nothing.
01/16/2024 • Lars OelmannAn alert appears, but the outlook is rather mediocre. Of course, an alert is always better than no alert, but with this one, the snow line is a bit of a bitch and the outlook after the weekend is also rather poor. -

PowderAlert 4 2023/24 | Warm shower, hot tears.
12/10/2023 • Lars OelmannWhat sounds like an erotic film from the 70s filmed with soft focus, which you used to be able to marvel at on linear television on private channels, is unfortunately the current reality, because even if Ullr sends us even more precipitation to our record-breaking base above 2000m, the inclined freerider will cry hot tears for the melted snow in the middle altitudes. -

PowderAlert 3 2023/24 | High winter during early winter!
11/29/2023 • Lars OelmannFor the first time in years, ski resorts are opening earlier instead of later, there's more snow than at the beginning of March last season and it's cold too. Can it get any better? Yes and no. -

PowderAlert 2 2023/24 | When it's on then it's on
11/27/2023 • Lars OelmannYou know it from soccer (that's the sport without skis that many people supposedly think is great. I once saw it on TV!), if a team somehow always gets everything right, or you always ski the right line on the same day, then that's a run. -

PowderAlert 12 2022/23 | One Last Dance with Ullr!
04/13/2023 • Lars Oelmann
I actually wanted to write something about a "last hallali" or "Ullr's last attack", but martial war and hunting metaphors somehow have a stale aftertaste after the last year. -

PowderAlert 11 2022/23 | A dump, not a joke!
03/30/2023 • Lars Oelmann
Just in time for the end of the season and the first of April, Ullr proves to have a special sense of humor and sends us another alarm. One wonders why he wasn't able to increase the frequency of alerts three months ago, but Ullr's disciples are patient and happy for any blessing. -

PowderAlert 9 2022 /23 | Less roulette, more powder
03/13/2023 • Lars Oelmann
The alarm comes with a massive line of thunderstorms and will bring some powder to the Alps again. This time with less densely packed warm and cold air masses, which made things quite complicated last week: Saturday the west lost out on the powder roulette table and the north won, Sunday it was the other way around. -

PowderAlert 8 2022 /23 | Westwinteralert
03/09/2023 • Lars Oelmann
As announced, the snowfall continues seamlessly. Surprisingly, the snow line for this alarm is lower than feared at times. Ullr likes us after all! A strong westerly flow is also dumping a lot of snow, but no Californian records are in danger. -

PowderAlert 7 20022/23 | Winter sales weeks!
03/07/2023 • Lars Oelmann
It's that time again! The end-of-winter powder hunt begins these days and Ullr is spinning the snowfall limit roulette while turning on the precipitation hose at the same time. -

TouringTip | Lenzspitze north face
02/28/2023 • Malte Hangler-Schulz
It is considered one of the most beautiful ice walls in the Alps: the north face of the Lenzspitze. Even though more and more rocks are unfortunately appearing in the once huge ice sheet above Saas-Fee, the wall is a dream for every steep face skier when the snow and conditions are right! First climbed by Heini Holzer in 1972, the wall has become even more famous today thanks to the films "Mission Steeps" and "La Liste" and is climbed relatively frequently when the conditions are right. -

PowderAlert 4 2022 /23 | On the hunt for the average
01/14/2023 • Lars OelmannIn this alarm you can almost finally ski like in a normal season! Joy! The only downside: unfortunately only in Lower Valais and France. -

PowderAlert 2 2022/23 | Dump or shower?
12/22/2022 • Lars Oelmann
This freeride year is starting like the old one ended. Tough and with little snow. And Christmas brings little relief, because true to the motto "champagne or seltzer", seltzer or a shower is the order of the day for most of us. It rains all the way up and the almost non-existent snow cover continues to thaw. In the high mountains, the converted scrap is covered with drift snow. Fantastic views.... not!
