This week will be full of adventure: a crossing of the Southern Alps in New Zealand by boat, ski and climbing. A female duo on a 10-day winter expedition with couloirs in Alaska. Alongside the adventure, there's park skiing at its finest - crème de la crème from the Depart crew and hotlaps. Plus snowboard clip after clip: A crew that left no pillow untouched. What a movie.

The Videos of the Week are back. Happy, if somewhat belated, 2026! The last few weeks have been busy: Sammy's new masterpiece has been released, K2 has presented a backcountry team film and Jacob Callaghan, my favorite filmmaker and rider, is back with a new video for Season EQPT. Enjoy the week and, like Drew Peterson, let skiing or snowboarding be a means to mental health!

Survived Christmas, said hello to the whole family in love and stress - or hid somewhere in the snow or on the beach? I'm using this space this week to draw attention to a website: the Freeski Museum. Eric Iberg has been working for years on creating a platform that brings together all ski films, all ski pro models, all podcasts, etc. It's finally online and still a long way from being finished - but wow, so cool. Thanks for that.

This week's selection is made up of eight current films, including Pops by Sam Kuch, a heart-warming short film about becoming a father, as well as some classics that are perfect for the Christmas season. Let yourself be surprised, enjoy the holidays and end the year in peace. We take a journey through time from the 1980s to the 2020s and ask the question: Which ski or snowboard film was formative for its decade and was at the center of an entire era?

One of my favorite weeks so far. We finally get a new Beyond Medals movie with a full Lord of the Rings intro. We follow Jean on his bikepacking trip from Chamonix to Norway - what an adventure. In addition, the duo Sampo and LDM present their new film, which won the award for best picture at iF3. Even if the snow isn't always the best, we all have fun - and Boom Clubs Cali Rambo delivers that and more.

The journey has gone well and the accommodation situation has been sorted - now the exciting part begins: the snow, the endless nature, skiing, touring and exploring the resort. In this article, I'll take you on a journey through Whitewater, a real love letter resort. I'll show you my favorite touring areas, the road trips we took over the winter and the vibrant community life in Nelson. I'll just say: deep snow to the horizon, swimming in January, dancing, sauna and the making of a second home overseas.

This week has it all. The two Kiwi-Bens present a cinematic masterpiece that they shot in their home country. Sage Kotsenberg delivers one of the coolest intros ever, whose animated style evokes nostalgic memories of old games. There's also one of the best SLVSH games in a long time - this time as an all-mountain version instead of in the park. And finally, Bucket Clips enters its fourth round: Rosina's passion project, which brings together women and FLINTA people in the freeski scene.

Manon Loschi's first solo project will win you over. Travis Rice takes Estelle to Alaska, and Magma is back with her best movie. In addition, the Salomon-Depart team is on the search for the forest man, and Gnu Snowboards delivers the snowboard film of the year.

This week, Chris Rubens takes us to his organic farm and gives us an insight into his life as a farmer alongside his skiing career. We also travel to Uzbekistan with Arthur Longo and meet Mike Hornbeck, who shows us the special bond between father and son while skiing.

Inyo and Worm have returned to Alaska with a new adventure. Korua conquers hearts in Australia and just in time for his pro-model ski, Dylan Siggers presents a new street movie. Finally, more snowboard content is showing up in my feed again!

Mid-November - and everyone is starting to feel the coming winter. My highlight of the week is a street video from Montreal in which Ed Joy shines. We also discover new parallels between baking and skiing and get some life wisdom from legend Glen Plake: it's about living loud enough to feel it, raw enough to remember it, and brave enough to keep doing it - even when the world tells you to back off.

In January 2024, the time had come - a flight to another continent. Endless expanses, valley after valley. Not so different at first glance: mountains, trees, snow. But where are the villages? An eight-hour drive and just three real villages. And then: Nelson on Kootenay Lake. A little gem, full of love - and even more snow.
