Join in and win fabulous prizes again in the betting game for the Freeride Testival Warth/Schröcken 2026

03/06/2026
PowderGuide
The legendary PowderGuide snow depth prediction game will be at the Freeride Testival stops four times this winter - and each time you can win great prizes. PowderGuide will be present at all stops to hand out the prizes directly. At the third stop in Warth/Schröcken from March 7 to 8, 2026, you can take home unique prizes from Head, Fritschi, Black Diamond, Contour and Forest Skis worth over 2,000 euros!

PowderGuide on site at the Freeride Testivals

PowderGuide will be on site at the four stops of the Freeride Testivals this winter together with our cooperation partner Penguin with a stand, which has been aptly named The Powder Collective. The first stop took place on the last weekend in January in Hochfügen. Now it continues this weekend in Silvretta Montafon. The stand is the central hub for the community and offers much more than just an exchange of information and a betting game. It is also the meeting point for the Penguin Guide courses. You can also find more information here.

PowderGuide is also a weather partner of the Freeride Testivals and without giving away any big secrets: the snow conditions here are not overly good, but definitely suitable for off-piste adventures - more on this in our betting game question. The forecast for the two days of the Testival in Warth is a very spring-like 6-9 degrees Celsius (daily maximum) and 8 hours of sunshine each day - the best weather to spend a relaxing weekend in the mountains!

Unfortunately, the rest of the forecast is not based on crystal ball reading this time, as Michael already explained in our WeatherBlog 18 2025/26 from Wednesday. As suspected, the facts are in line with the values for this year's winter - warm and dry. Let's hope for a few snowfalls in March and April with wintry temperatures!

Warth/Schröcken snow depth prediction game

The PowderGuide snow depth prediction game is usually announced with every PowderAlert: Everyone bets on the amount of new snow that will fall at a weather station by the end of the alert. Since this winter, the prediction game has been played in a slightly modified version at various events where PowderGuide is on site. The FreerideFilmFestival in Innsbruck and the first two FRT-STopps in Hochfügen at the end of January and beginning of February in Silvretta Montafon were already intensively betting at the beginning of November 2025. The betting game for the third stop of the Freeride Testival 2026 is now set to take place this weekend.

The precipitation really leaves a lot to be desired this winter, which is why we want to stick to our recently established prediction system.

In our weather maps, we not only have forecasts of various parameters, but also very good data on the current snow conditions and snow depth, which are provided to us by our partner ExoLabs. These maps are based on a combination of satellite and measuring station data and the ICON weather model from the DWD. And can be impressively analyzed in 3D on the new PowderGuide map .

In the Alps, these snow depth maps achieve a resolution of 20 x 20 m, worldwide still a respectable 300 x 300 m. The data from ExoLabs are the most accurate snow depth maps available on the market. Of course, they also contain deviations from the real snow situation, especially where it is difficult to analyze due to orography and e.g. vegetation (forest!), but they are very valuable for a reasonable preparation for the next ski tour and for the betting game anyway.

Das gilt es zu tippen

So once again it's not about a forecast, but about the current snow conditions. In view of the many very good tips in the Montafon, this time we are including a decimal place. The prediction game question for the stop in Warth/Schröcken is:

What is the current average snow depth [cm WITH ONE decimal place] in the Warth/Schröcken ski area?

The guess is based on the ExoLabs snow depth map from March 1, 2026 within the red polygon (see image above). The polygon is the area of the ski area defined by us.

You can also enter without being present at the Testival, but of course this increases your chances of holding the prize in your hands soon!

Reminder: This is an estimation game, i.e. you can do the math yourself, but it's more fun and time on skis to estimate. And in addition, the automatic evaluation of the prediction game master still applies. As always, there is no legal recourse.

You can find out how you can take part below - now let's move on to more important things...

What you can win

Once again, we have organized great prizes for you from our partners - worth a total of over 2,000 euros!

The first prize for the best tip is once again a pair of stylish skis. This time from PowderGuide partner HEAD. These are from the current KORE Ti collection, which we have already tested extensively here in the three narrower versions and found to be very good in the gear reviews | HEAD KORE Ti Ski Collection! As the potential winners have not been tested by us, we look forward to a test report from the winners.

Either the KORE 93 Ti W in 170 cm and the Tyrolia ATTACK LYT 12 GW binding on top - all together worth a total of 940,- Euro!

Or a more masculine winner can look forward to the KORE 112 Ti in 177 cm length and a Tyrolia ATTACK 14 GW binding worth 1,000 euros!

Please note: Only these lengths are available and the skis can be picked up directly at the prize draw. No exchange or cash payment possible!

The second prize fits perfectly on your new touring ski, because it is light and gives you a lot of safety margin. Yes, that's right, we're talking about the new Fritschi Xenic Plus 12, which came onto the market this winter with a major upgrade. All the advantages with hardly any disadvantages can be found in the brand-new gear reviews | Fritschi Xenic Plus 12. The binding is worth 480 euros and will be sent out after the competition.

This time, third place will be awarded with further essential ski touring equipment. The third best tip wins a Black Diamond Cirque 35L in black (and size M/L) and a Black Diamond Distance 1100 headlamp. You'll be perfectly equipped for your next ski touring adventure.

With the Distance 1100, there's no excuse for starting your next tour early. But above all, it gives you a large margin of safety in case it takes a little longer at the back. You can look forward to prizes worth 300 euros!

The fourth prize is a priceless coat of the endangered Pink Leo - not to be confused with Pink Panther! - of inestimable value! Joking aside, you can already take home the Contour L.E.O. (limited edition only) ski skin in leopard look, which will be available for everyone else next season!

To all animal rights activists: NO leopard was sacrificed for it, but it is a very good ski touring skin! At least that's what Teja says, who is responsible for the recently published gear reviews | Contour Guide Mix 2.0 ski skins. Enjoy the beautiful design and a price worth 200 euros! And, incidentally, reliable grip!

The fifth prize is by no means a consolation prize! With the Skibag and the Flat Brim Cap from Forest Skis, you'll look great at the après-ski and your skis will be well stowed away! You can also look forward to prizes worth 75 euros!

Here's how you can take part

Post your tip on the above prediction game question as a comment under this article by Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 12 noon CET . The time of the comment counts. QR codes linking directly to the article will be available at the Powder Collective stand at the Testival.

The winners will be announced on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:30 pm at the Powder Collective stand. Some prizes can be taken away directly, others will be sent out afterwards.

If there is a tie for one of the places, the winner will be drawn by lot. As always, legal recourse, exchange and cash payment are excluded.

Have fun and good luck with your predictions!
