PowderAlert No. 12 2015 | The Exotic Dump
02/03/2015 • Lars Oelmann
Now that the Northern Alps and the Pyrenees have been raised from two below-average stars to four-star report level in 7 days, our favorite Nordic god is taking on the south of the Alps - and not the classic south of the last Southern Alps, but the more exotic spots that haven't done so well so far. -

PowderAlert No. 9 2015 | Second helpings in the south
01/20/2015 • Lars OelmannTrue to the motto "when it's on, it's on", Ullr is reflecting on its performance last week and sending supplies south just in time for the weekend. The whole thing starts today and will be finished on Friday morning. It won't be a proper dump but a fun replenishment on the soft base. -

Salomon Freeski TV: War Story | When marketing abuses history
01/04/2015 • Patrick WehowskyOur author was struck by the Salomon Freeski episode "War Story"... The astonishingly insensitive mixing of old footage from the Dolomite front of the First World War with quite successful ski videos of the same area provokes a polemical reply. -

Freeride tour of the week | Cima Tosa - Canalone Neri
12/07/2014 • Lorenzo Rieg
The Canalone Neri on the Cima Tosa is probably one of the most perfect gullies in the Alps. 900 vertical meters, north-facing and steep throughout, the gully is also located in a very impressive landscape! -

PowderAlert No. 4 2014/2015 | Südstau III

New dump, old neighborhood. Ullr does the triple and sends another dump to the south. This time a cold front follows, so a few flakes may also fall in the north. -

03/05/2014 • Leander Nardin
The winner of our big PG photo competition, Leander Nardin, had the chance to compete in the King of Dolomites on February 20, 2014 with a wild card. His team impressed with an unusual idea and almost managed to get a place on the podium. -

SpotCheck | South Tyrol
03/03/2014 • Stefan SiegelProfessionally, I am lucky, or unlucky, to travel countless miles by plane every year. And sometimes I get to take my skis with me and go freeriding in exotic places. On my return, however, my mother usually gets in touch and asks critically, "Why do you have to fly so far when we have it so nice at home?" Until now, the answer has always been quite simple: because there's usually not enough snow at home! -

King of Dolomites 2014 | Eventreport
02/28/2014 • Lorenzo RiegThe "King of Dolomites" Powder Photo Contest was held for the second time in San Martino di Castrozza. This is a photo competition in which teams of two skiers or snowboarders and a photographer have the opportunity to take the best pictures in the impressive mountain world of the Dolomites over two days to win not only fame and glory, but also valuable prizes! -

PowderAlert 15/2014 | Südstau Ahoy!
02/27/2014 • Lars OelmannAfter it has been rather quiet in the Alarmecke recently with several small snowfalls and steeper things to tackle in the touring terrain, the powder pirates are getting excited again, as there is südstau and new opportunities to have some lazy fun in the powder from the lift. Once again. In the north, we can probably kiss the season goodbye when we look at the forecast warmth for next week. -

Freeride tour of the week | Punta Penia - Parete Nord
02/23/2014 • Christian SkalaThe Marmolada not only has a lot to offer climbers, skiers also get their money's worth on this mighty ridge. A particular highlight for steep face skiers is the north face of the highest peak, Punta Penia. -

PowderAlert 12/2014 | Deep South III
02/02/2014 • Lars OelmannDidn't I say in the last alert that it would stop snowing on Monday? I was just on the Ullrphone and he said: Think again, dear! The new alert is in effect until midweek, as Ullr apparently has a plan to break seven-day snowfall records (it has already literally "pulverized" the 48-hour ones in places with 50- to 100-year events in the southeast). Then it's on to the next alert. -

PowderAlert 10/2014 | The Monster Dump
01/28/2014 • Lars OelmannUllr has also taken this, admittedly slightly modified, wisdom from the IT industry to heart and, after a rather half-hearted Nordstau interlude, is now giving us another Südstau that is really something.
