In the ninth edition of Videos of the Week, we celebrate Joona, the well-deserved 'Freeskier of the Year,' and take a look at creative film projects from the French Freeski team. We also join Torstein Horgmo on a psychedelic snowboarding journey through Baldface and Japan. On the competition side, we finally have fresh new Games of SLVSH, and the X Games kicked off with its first day full of exciting action. A week full of highlights for all Freeski and Snowboard fans!

In recent years, films have emerged that go beyond the sport itself, encouraging us to reflect on our responsibility in the climate crisis. They urge us to take imperfect, yet necessary steps to create change. With impressive action and artistic vision, some of these projects show that change doesn't have to be perfect, but instead that every step matters.

Christmas and New Year are over - a wonderful time with family and friends is behind us, and there's still time for a few ski films in between. I hope most of you have had a good start into 2025 - on skis or boards - and feel like getting some inspiration for the coming week.

Welcome to the second videos of the week! The first snowfalls happened in the Alpes and the anticipation is building. To get you in the mood, we've put together a collection of new projects from the snow scene for you. From powder adventures and long ski tours to stylish snowboarders, it's all here.

Whether skis, snowboard or touring equipment: your equipment is your most important companion on the mountain. It determines fun and comfort, but also safety and, in an emergency, life and death. In this article, in collaboration with our partner Sport Conrad, we present the average lifespan of your equipement,, how you can recognise when it's time to replace it and which tips will help you to better assess the condition of your equipment. This article covers the categories; ski/snowboard, touring equipment, alpine touring equipment and safety equipment and provides tips on the lifespan and maintenance of your equipment.

Winter is just around the corner and with it, more and more new projects from the ski film scene are being launched. Some have been announced for a long time and hyped up with trailers, others are simply uploaded. In this section we would like to present you a weekly selection of videos or films that are particularly worth seeing. I will also be looking at smaller projects - the ones that may fall under the radar but are hidden treasures. I'm sure many of you will discover the big productions by yourselves.
